BEHIND THE NAME

The term Viriditas, coined by the remarkable 12th-century Benedictine abbess, mystic, composer, philosopher and natural scientist Hildegard of Bingen, literally means ‘greenness’ or ‘greening power,’ but its meaning extends far beyond a simple description of colour.
